MCE calls for unity among political leaders

Ejisu (Ash), May 5, GNA - Newly confirmed Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) has urged political leaders in the country to bury their political differences and unite to build a better Ghana. Mr Mohammed Boakye Agyemang, the new MCE for Ejisu Juaben, who made the call at Ejisu on Monday after his confirmation by the assembly members, said the peaceful post-election period currently prevailing in the country presented a good platform for national integration and socio-economic development.

The MCE, who was speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview, maintained that the task of national development was a collective effort, which called for popular governance in which all and sundry ought to make useful input to help formulate workable policies to foster economic growth.

"This is not the time for politicisation of national issues, which will only breed disunity, rancour and enmity," he stressed. Mr Boakye Agyemang said though each individual had the right to belong to any political party, political differences and party affiliations should not be allowed to divide us adding "we must agree to disagree and disagree to agree".
