Kumasi, Jan. 28, GNA - The Graduate Students' Association of Ghana (GRASAG), has congratulated Professor John Evans Atta Mills, President of Ghana and Mr. John Mahama, Vice President for their ascension to the high offices of the nation. The group also commended the Electoral Commission, security services, political parties, election observers, electorates, media and civil society for ensuring peaceful, free, fair and transparent elections last year.

A statement signed by national president of the association, Mr. Michael Adusei, said the success of the polls has helped in deepening Ghana's democracy, which has become a show case of multiparty democracy in Africa. It said the association pledged its co-operation and support for any policy by President Mills to promote tertiary education in Ghana. The statement said with his vast experience in university education "we hope the President would address challenges such as inadequate funding facing university education in Ghana".
