Voting at Effutu Constituency started a little late

Essuekyir C/R), Dec. 07, GNA - Voting at some polling stations in the Effutu Constituency started some few minutes late due to delays by electoral officers. At Gyahadze D/A Primary School with polling station number B071701 in the Gyahadze Electoral Area, the Presiding Officer, Mr Enoch Barnor said voting started at 0720 hours because they were then putting things in order. The Presiding Officer at the Essuekyir Methodist Church Polling Station with Registration Number B0717706, Mr Daniel Acquah said voting started at 0705 hours and 84 out of 831 had cast their ballot at the time of the visit of the GNA.

At the Obataan House Polling Station with Registration Number B071001 at the Sankor Electoral Area, the Presiding Officer, Mr Emmanuel Koomson said voting started ten minutes late. He said 45 out of 1044 total registered voters had voted by 0836 hours when the GNA visited. The NDC, CPP, NPP, and DFP were represented at the various stations visited.

In the Winneba Township there were long queues at most polling stations with most of them joining as early as 0300 hours. Opanyin Joseph Akromond, aged 74 with the support of a walking-stick was among the voters who had joined the queue at Wesley Hall Polling Station in Winneba. At the 31st Polling Station with Registration Number B0703301 in the Donkonyiam Electoral Area, Opanyin Kuntu Blankson, aged 105, was also among those in the queue to cast their vote. Mr Blankson told the GNA that he had to exercise his franchise since it was his civic responsibility.
