Unite to ensure victory for NPP - Foot Soldiers urged

Accra, June 17, GNA - Foot Soldiers and workers of the New

Patriotic Party (NPP) have been urged to bury their differences and unite

to ensure a resounding victory for the party in the December Presidential

and Parliamentary elections. Dr. Dsane Selby, a leading member of the Party gave the advice

when the new 15-member Executives of the Danquah-Busia Patriotic

Foot Soldiers Association were introduced to him in Accra. In an address he said, "The NPP has come a long way" and was on

the verge of achieving "socio-economic and political emancipation" for

the country. "If NPP has not done anything to our dear nation, at least it can be

remembered for entrenching freedom of speech and association without

arbitrary arrests and other civil rights abuses", Dr Selby stated. Dr. Selby, who is a medical doctor urged the executive members to

"trek to all nooks and corners of the country to propagate the positive

works of the party and the difference it is making in the lives of the

people". Mr. Kwabena Dwomoh, National Co-ordinator, said branches of the

Association had been organized in the Ashanti, Western, Central and

Greater Accra Regions and appealed to well-wishers for support to

cover the whole country under a programme codenamed: "Operation Baby Elephant Walk". He said the Association had put in place elaborate plans to intensify its nationwide campaign by the end of next month with the election of

Regional Executives and the appointment of a Co-ordinator for every

area to ensure effective administration, monitoring and evaluation.
