NPP MP re-elected to contest Nkwanta-North seat

Kpassa, June 9, GNA - Mr Joseph Kwaku Nayan, the sitting Member of Parliament for Nkwanta-North was at the weekend re-elected unopposed to contest the seat for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the December elections.

Officials of the Electoral Commission supervised the election at the Constituency primary, which was held at Ebitiyie in the Nkwanta North District.

Mr Nayan, also the Deputy Volta Regional Minister thanked the delegates for the trust reposed in him, and advised them to close their ranks to facilitate prompt campaign and victory in the December elections.

He urged supporters to embark on "house-to-house" campaign adding that, they should propagate the good achievements of the NPP administration.

Mr Johnson Avuletey, Volta Regional Organizer of NPP, advised party supporters to remain steadfast and work hard to enable the party to retain its only seat in the Volta Region. He was optimistic that with good strategies, more Parliamentary seats would be won considering the enormous socio-economic development the party had brought to Ghanaians.

Mr Maxwell Blagodzi, Regional Youth Organizer of NPP reminded supporters of the unalloyed contribution and resilience of Mr. Nayan, which had culminated in granting the area a district status and urged the people to vote massively for the party for continuity of rapid development.

Irate youth from Kpassa in the Nkwanta-North Constituency on June 1, this year, disrupted the endorsement of Mr. Nayan, citing lack of transparency, which led to the disqualification of Mr. Solomon Kwame Bachabor, the Constituency Chairman. 9 June 08
