Akua Dansua wins primaries

Kpando (V/R), April 9, GNA - Ms Akua Sena Dansua, the incumbent NDC Member of Parliament (MP) for North Dayi was on Tuesday elected at a Constituency primary, held at Kpando, to contest the December general elections.

She polled 174 votes against Mr Joseph Kpengey, a Management Consultant who had 90 votes in the election which was conducted by the Electoral Commission at the Kpando Technical Senior High School. The visibly elated Ms Dansua, also the Deputy Minority Chief Whip in Parliament, in a remark thanked her constituents for retaining and reposing their trust in her and pledged to continue to "hold her head above water".

She urged party supporters to maintain their focus, work together in unity and "victory would be ours". Mr Kpengey conceding defeat pledged his unalloyed support to Ms Dansua and the party at large.

Mr Enoch T. Mensah, First National Vice Chairman of NDC urged members of the party to close their ranks in order to consolidate victory for the party in the December elections.

He entreated supporters to embark on house-to-house campaign in a bid to win more souls to their fold, adding, victory was beckoning the NDC but would only translate into reality by dint of hard work. Mr Mensah, also MP of Ningo Prampram appealed to party faithfuls to register in their numbers towards making the election a done-deal. Present were other party stalwarts including Mrs Ama Benyiwa Doe, National Women's Organizer, Mr Kwasi Aboagye, First Volta Regional Vice Chairman and Mr Francis Ganyaglo, Volta Regional Secretary.
