"Look for Aspirant with quality leadership" Addo-Kufuor

Kade, Nov. 16, GNA - A presidential aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Kwame Addo-Kufuor, has appealed to delegates to the December 22 congress to elect an aspirant who would offer quality leadership.

They should look at the track records of all the candidates, how they have creditably performed in the service of the party and the nation before settling for the best to be given the mantle to lead the party and the nation. Dr Addo-Kufuor was addressing executive members of the Akwatia and Kade constituencies of the NPP and other party faithful at Kade on Wednesday.

He said he had served the party and the government with extreme dedication and loyalty and the time was ripe for him to be given the nod to be the party's flag bearer for Election 2008. "You must vote for the right man, and I am that right man", he told the meeting.

Dr Addo-Kufuor said Ghana had made great strides during the nearly seven years of President John Agyekum Kufuor's administration. "The government having laid solid foundation for further growth and development in all aspects of national life, there is the need to choose a competent leader to succeed him".

He promised to offer the nation a visionary and competent leadership if given the opportunity to lead the party and the nation. Dr Addo Kufuor said his work and achievements at the Ministry of Defence and for a period at the Ministry of the Interior attested to the caliber of person he was and the type of leadership he could offer as the nation's Chief Executive if he was chosen as the party's flag bearer and eventually President of the Republic.
