Shun cheap politics - DCE urges Ghanaians

Juaso (Ash), Aug 31, GNA- Dr Lord Justice Gyamfi-Fenteng, District Chief Executive for Asante-Akim South, has called on Ghanaians not to heed to cheap political gimmicks being peddled around by people whose quest were to undermine government's efforts to resolve the energy crisis.

He said, "Though the expression of divergent views gave room for our young democracy to thrive, it was unacceptable for people to deliberately propagate falsehood just to score cheap political points. The District Chief Executive was addressing the closing session of the annual women's convention of the Juaso District of the Apostolic Church at Juaso.

The four-day convention, which was on the theme "Be of Good Cheer, Be Not Afraid", brought together 150 delegates from Juaso, Obogu, Yawkwei and Morso all in the district.

Dr Gyamfi-Fenteng said government was committed to improving the livelihood of Ghanaians, citing various interventions introduced by government to support his claim.

He said the introduction of sound economic policies had created an enabling environment for small businesses to grow and urged Ghanaians especially women to take advantage of it and become self-reliant. Mrs Paulina Aboagye, leader of the women fellowship, said the role of women in the management of the home was crucial to the proper upbringing of children and urged the delegates not to shirk their responsibilities.

She entreated them to be submissive to their husbands and inculcate a high sense of discipline in their children to give true meaning to womanhood.
