NPP youth to die for the party

Accra, Feb. 27 GNA - The youth and women's wing of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Tuesday declared that they were ever enthused to die for the party.

They said 93the success of the Party is dependent on effective performance of the Youth and Women Wings and they ought to be seen as focal segments"

In a seven point resolution at the end of workshops, the special wings of the Party said, 93the Party should develop a structure to attract more young women into the youth wing and should 93make conscious effort to motivate and offer proper recognition to all, particularly youth and women who continuously sacrifice their resources (energies and ideas) to ensure Party's development"

In a statement signed by Mr John Boadu, National Youth Organiser of the party said the workshops were jointly sponsored by the NPP and the Conservative Party, U.K. and the resource persons were Mr Baxter Andrew (Former Campaign Manager), Matthew Edmonds (Trainer), Marian Little (Trainer) Duncan MacFarlane (Trainer) all of the Conservative Party, U.K.

The workshops were part of a series of cooperation between the New Patriotic Party and the Conservative Party to exchange ideas in building a very formidable centre right Party in Africa.

The resolution said 93the Party should let it be a priority to develop programmes which will appeal to majority of the youth groups and women at all levels and should continuously work hard to establish appropriate rapport with the electorate who are invaluable clients of the Party".

The Party's philosophy and ideology should be inculcated among these special wings to ensure continuous growth and it should develop strategies that blocs are not formed within the ranks and that the training of the wings ought to be done intermittently to sharpen their leadership, communication, advocacy, and management skills.
