Ho East MP interacts with constituents

Adaklu Kodzobi (V/R), Oct. 24, GNA - Mrs Jocelyn Juliana Azumah-Mensah, Member of Parliament for Ho East, has called on parents to invest in the education of their children, rather than spending their monies on frivolous things.

She said investing in a child's education is a long tern investment, which yields good dividends not only for the child and his or her family, but society at large.

Mrs Azumah-Mensah made the call in an interaction with the chief and people of Adaklu Kodzobi in the Adaklu Anyigbe District at the weekend.

She said she would assist needy but brilliant students with part of her share of the Assemblies' Common Fund and advised the people to take advantage of the capitation grant and enrol their children in school.

The MP said she was touring all communities in her constituency to acquaint herself with development needs of the people. She appealed to women to form co-operative groups in order to access loans from the banks and non-banking financial institutions to expand their businesses to reduce poverty. Mrs Azumah-Mensah advised the people to live in peace and unity for the development of the area, adding that without peace there would be no development.

Togbe Dzegblade IV, Chief of Adaklu Kodzobi, thanked the MP for the visit and said the community was undertaking some development projects, including the extension of electricity to the community and appealed to the MP for assistance.
