Assemblyman-elect calls for unity

Gomoa Potsin (C/R), Oct. 5, GNA - Prince Charles Abbam, Assemblyman-elect for Dominase Electoral Area in the Gomoa District, has called on his two other contestants and their supporters to put the outcome of the election behind them and rally behind him to map out strategies to improve conditions in the area.

Addressing a jubilant crowd after a picnic through Potsin to Dominase accompanied with brass band music to celebrate the victory, Prince Abbam reminded the electorate of the adage "united we stand and divided we fall" and appealed to them not to let the election to divide them. "We were all fighting to get the mandate to serve our people, losing the election should not make you deny the people what you have for them," the Assemblyman-elect stated.

He expressed gratitude to the electorate for the confidence reposed in him by electing him to the assembly for the second time. Prince Abbam appealed to everyone to contribute his or her quota to the development of the area, adding that improvement of conditions of the area should not be seen as the responsibility of the assemblyman, the chief or the parliamentarian alone but through the concerted efforts of all citizens.

"My doors are open to all at any time," he assured them. Prince Abbam scored 682 votes to beat two other contestants who polled a total 637 votes. 5 Oct. 06
