Why Mahama does not 'speak like a statesman' - Deputy Minister

Pius Enam Hadzide, Deputy Minister of Information Pius Enam Hadzide, Deputy Minister of Information

Deputy Minister of Information, Pius Enam Hadzide has hinted of why former President John Mahama has been speaking a lot of days.

The former President has been throwing shades at the ruling government and the Electoral Commission of Ghana at the least opportunity. Some of these comments have been widely condemned by some political pundits including the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He has recently accused President Akufo-Addo of taking credit for projects which he started and some almost completed.

According to him, Ghanaians need to understand him because he is no longer a former President but a Presidential candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

"We should realize that he is now a flagbearer and so he doesn’t speak like a statesman. He removes the former President attire and wears that of a presidential candidate. So some of his comments do not portray a former President. Ghanaians should understand he is no longer a former President but a Presidential candidate and so he needs to speak to encourage his base; he is wearing a political attire".
