Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Ocloo, has said that her appointment by President John Dramani Mahama did not come as a surprise to her, noting that the role, though demanding, is not beyond her capacity.
In a viral video sighted by GhanaWeb on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, she recounted the reactions that followed her nomination and explained that the process was stressful but expected.

"I wouldn't say it has been difficult. It was stressful. I know how politics is, so I wasn't surprised when my name came out as the Regional Minister for Greater Accra. When the name came out, a lot of people said men have occupied this position before, so they need (sic) someone who can make a meaningful impact, but I know I can make an impact," she said.
Linda Ocloo began her political journey after the tragic death of her husband, Desmond William Ocloo, who was initially nominated as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Shai-Osudoku.
The party selected her to step in, and she contested and won the 2016 general elections.
