The Ashanti Regional chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, says he is fully abreast of whatever the ruling party did to win the 2024 general elections.

He said, for the NPP to block the National Democratic Congress from consolidating its victory in the 2028 elections, he must be voted as the party's national chairman so that he will propel the NPP to victory.

According to Boasiako, who is popularly called Chairman Wontumi, he has learned a lot, including what caused the defeat of the NPP in the 2024 elections, as well as what the National Democratic Congress (NDC) did to win.

Speaking on his privately owned Wontumi TV/Radio on Friday, July 31, 2025, he stated, "If it comes to the 2024 elections, I know what the NDC did and we will never again…!!".

Though he did not specifically mention the exact thing the NDC did to win the election, he exclaimed, "We will never again, and I mean it, we will never again!! NDC has only delayed our victory, but it cannot stop us."

Talking about his experience in political leadership, he mentioned he has gained a lot of exposure with practical political leadership qualities that will enable him to guide the party to victory if he becomes the party's national chairman.

He stated that as the chairman for the Ashant Region for 12 years, he witnessed the leadership styles of the Jake Obetseb-Lamptey, Paul Afoko, Fredy Blay and Stephen Ntim, which have inspired him to lead the NPP.
