Ward Brew Fails to File Nominations

The Presidential candidate of the Democratic People?s Party, DPP, has failed to file his nominations to contest the December polls.

Mr. TN Ward Brew failed to meet the EC?s Thursday 21st October 5pm deadline for candidates wishing to contest the polls to file their nominations.

Mr. Ward Brew arrived at the operations room of the EC at a quarter to six and had even not completed the nomination forms.

Mr. Ward Brew, accompanied by an elderly man he later introduced as his running mate, demanded that the chairman of the EC to take them through the process.

This forced the commissioners into a meeting to decide the fate of the DPP candidate.

Dr. Afari Gyan, later broke the verdict of the commissioners to the candidate.

?We have a rule in elections and we would apply it here. When it is 5 pm and you are in the queue you would be considered. But in this case Mr. Ward Brew arrived here well after 5:30 pm and we cannot accept your application?, he said.

Mr. Ward Brew would have done of that. He expressed shock at the EC?s decision.

He told them they were not been considerate in their action.

?Mr. chairman we are setting a precedent and I think we cannot pin everything to time. You didn?t even ask me why I am late. You?re a teacher and if you give such a onerous task you should find out how they go about it. you cannot tile everything around time?, he said.

But the commissioners simply ignored him and left the operations room.

He later appealed to them to cover his parliamentary candidates with his twenty million Cedi nomination fees.
