The Wa Central constituency executives of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Upper West Region were on Wednesday March 27, 2019 engaged in a physical fight leading to injuries sustained by some of them who openly traded blows with each other.

According to an eyewitness who spoke to MyNewsGh.com, it all started when the constituency chairman Mr Mohammed Sulemana was making a donation of thousand Ghana cedis to the Mangu branch of the party within the Wa Central constituency of the party.

The assemblyman of Mangu Electoral Area known by many as Jabagadaw got offended because as an active member of the NDC and his by his standing, his office should have been the first point of call but the donation was done at his blind side and this, therefore, infuriated him leading to fisticuffs with other factions within Wa Central NDC executives.

According to the eyewitness, the Mangu assemblyman Jabagadaw was served with dirty slaps by a woman for daring to challenge the Wa Central constituency chairman Mr. Mohammed Sulemana since he was making the donation for a good cause.

In the ensuing melee, another strong NDC activist one Alhaji Waalu also gave a supporter of the constituency chairman a beating of his life resulting in injuries.

The situation is said to have sparked tension in the area and within the rank and file of Wa Central constituency of the NDC as rival factions are planning reprisal attacks.

The Constituency leaders have declined comment on the matter when reached by MyNewsGh.com while the police disclosed that no case of assault has been lodged at any of their offices.
