Voting starts earnestly at Kadjebi

Kadjebi, Sept 26, GNA - Voting started earnestly at Kadjebi in the Volta Region with voters' queues building up before the commencement of the exercise at 0700 hours.

Queues were formed as early as 0630 hours at Kadjebi Central, Temporary Booth at Freetown and the Local Authority/Estate Zongo electoral areas.

According to Mr Ernest Adomah-Baffour, Kadjebi Electoral Officer, anxious voters thronged the polling stations in readiness to exercise their franchise even before the materials were set up. He said "so far, so good" in relation to the adequacy of materials, adding that he did not envisage any problem of material shortages. A total of 30 electoral areas are being contested in the Jasikan district with candidates for two areas, Pampawie and Jinjisu, going unopposed.

He said there were 14 women out of a total of 94 candidates vying for positions in the elections.
