Volta Region Parliamentary Caucus to resolve land disputes

Ho, March 31 GNA- The Volta Region Parliamentary Caucus on Wednesday pledged their commitment to efforts by the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) to resolve land disputes in the area. Members of the Caucus made the commitment when they paid a courtesy call on the Regional Minister, Mr Kofi Dzamesi to congratulate him for his appointment.

The Chairman, Mr Dan Abodakpi, Member of Parliament (MP) for Keta, said the meeting was an indication that partisan approach to issues was over and called for concerted efforts to facilitate the development of the Region.

Mr Abodakpi expressed concern about the land dispute between Adaklu and Kpetoe communities, which he said was undermining the tourism potential of the area and said the MP's were committed to resolve the impasse.

Mr Joe Gidisu, MP for Central Tongu said the interaction between the Caucus and the Regional Minister would boost the region's development. Mr Albert Zigah, MP for Ketu South called on the Minister to expedite action on the Aflao State Transport Beach road project to Denu to ease traffic and air pollution.

Responding, Mr Dzamesi said he was prepared to collaborate with the MPs towards the socio-economic development of the region and urged them to put politics aside so that together they could pursue development issues with vigour.
