Volta NPP Executive Committee fill vacant executive positions

The Volta Regional Executive Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has elected officers to fill five vacant Regional Executive positions.

The vacancies were occasioned by the creation of the Oti region.

At a meeting in Sogakope, the Regional Executive Committee made up of 10 remaining Regional Officers and 18 Constituency Chairmen, elected officers for the positions of 2nd Vice, Deputy Secretary, Youth Organiser, Treasurer and NASARA Coordinator.

Out of four persons nominated for the position of 2nd Vice Chairman, Ebenezer Azumah won with 15 votes. The other nominees, Parlous Quashie, Isaac Fenu and Divine Bosson polled 11, 2 and 0 votes respectively.

Samuel Anku garnered 16 votes to clinch victory in the Deputy Secretary race with his competitor Roland Fiakpui polling 10 votes. There were 2 rejected ballots.

Wisdom Gakpo narrowly won the position of Treasurer with 15 votes against Enoch Amegbletor’s 13 votes.

Adebayor Mudah defeated Zain Suleiman with 19 votes to occupy the NASARA Coordinator position. Mr Suleiman managed to receive 9 votes in his favor.

Emmanuel Quashie cruised to victory as the Youth Organiser with 16 votes, while his competitor Raymond Cardigah garnered 12 votes.

The election was supervised by the party’s Director Of Research and Elections, Evans Nimako.

The Volta Regional NPP Chairman, Makafui Woanyah, in a congratulatory message urged the newly elected executives to perform their mandated duties effectively to consolidate the gains of the party.

He said “you have to give off your best under the circumstances, we have elections ahead of us”.

Mr Woanyah also implored patriots who lost the elections to continue contributing their quotas to increase electoral fortunes of the elephant fraternity.
