New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, and former Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has reaffirmed his confidence in delegates ahead of the party's National Delegates Conference, slated for Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
In a statement dated Friday, July 18, 2025, and signed by Kwaku Amoh-Dartey, Kennedy Agyapong described the conference as a crucial moment in the party's journey towards unity and national progress.
"Ken Agyapong profoundly acknowledges the sacrifices and steadfast commitment of our esteemed delegates. He earnestly urges them to approach this historic moment with paramount clarity, staunch courage, and resolute conviction," the statement noted.
Kennedy Agyapong further noted that the conference represents more than just a routine party event, but a decisive point in the party's history.
"He firmly believes this conference signifies a defining juncture in the party’s illustrious journey. He implores delegates to be perpetually guided by the profound aspirations of the ordinary Ghanaian, who embodies the true heartbeat and enduring spirit of our tradition. Victory is unattainable without profound unity," the statement added.
The leadership of the party has disclosed that final preparatory works are underway for the National Delegates Conference.
The conference will be held under the theme, “Rebuilding Together with Our Values.”
Meanwhile, some members of the NPP have filed a motion at the High Court seeking to halt the party’s conference.
The plaintiffs, Shamsudeen Iddrisu and Boateng Kwadwo, contend that the party has violated its constitution by failing to organise constituency and regional delegates’ conferences, which they argue are mandatory prerequisites for convening a National Delegates’ Conference.
