Victory 2016 will be led by the youth - David Asante declares

An aspirant for the position of National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party says victory for the party in the 2016 elections will be spearheaded by the youth of the party.

David Asante, a former spokesperson of pressure group, Let My Vote Count, made this known when he toured the Ashanti Region over the weekend as he campaign to lead the NPP’s Youth Wing intensifies.

David Asante, also known as King David, met with the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Party, the Secretary and other regional executives of the party to formally inform them about his ambition to the lead the youth wing of the party.

He also outlined his vision for the party which included the setting up of a Youth Fund to motivate acts of selflessness and hard work by youth within the party. The Fund, he said will also provide support for genuine and committed youth of the party who will ensure, amongst others, that the NPP wins the 2016 elections.

David noted that he represents the NPP’s best bet of attracting undecided youth to the party as he has a well-thought out plan and agenda to ensure the youth of Ghana, who currently see themselves as having no future under the visionless leadership of President John Mahama, are brought on board into the NPP.

He also took the opportunity to debunk assertions making the rounds that he was no longer interested in contesting for the Youth Organizer position of the NPP.

At TESCON programme at the Kumasi campus of the University of Education, Winneba, David Asante, who was a speaker at the event, promised to expand the frontiers of TESCON by putting in measures to broaden its membership base.

He noted that TESCON will become a formidable unit under his leadership, serving as a driving force for the membership drive he intends to pursue once elected as National Youth Organizer of the party.

King David urged the party to reward hard working persons who have shown loyalty to the party and reject aspirants who align themselves with big wigs for favour from delegates.
