Veep tours registration centres in Sekondi

Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has toured some of the Voter Registration Centres in Sekondi Metropolis as part of his tour of the Western Region

Some of the centres he visited were Essikado Methodist Senior High School centre, Ekuasi Park centre and Nkontompo A.M.E Zion Primary School centre.

Vice President Amissah-Arthur told the journalists that his objective for touring the registration centres was to observe the process and encouraged the youth especially those who have attained the legal voting age of 18 years to participate.

He said people who could not register during the previous registration should take advantage of the exercise to register and appealed to the youth to show interest in the exercise.

Vice President Amissah-Arthur also called on Ghanaians to cooperate with the electoral officials to ensure a smooth exercise.

At the Methodist Senior High School registration centre, Mr John Eshun, the Electoral Official, said on the first day of the exercise 67 people were registered and 65 and 35 people were also registered for the second and third days respectfully.

Mr Philip Gbogbogah, an Electoral Official at the Ekuasi Park who was setting up their equipment at the time of the visit, explained that the reason they could not start the registration at 0700hours was that most supporting officials did not arrive on time.

At the Nkontompo A.M.E Zion Primary school centre, Ms Kate Annan, an Electoral Official, said on the first day 32 people were registered, the second day 23 and the third day 24.
