Upper West NPP to revamp structures

Wa, Nov.22, GNA - Alhaji Abubakari Abdul-Rahman, Upper West Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has pledged the commitment of the Executive Committee to rejuvenate the Party's structures in the region to make it attractive to the electorates. He said the Party was poised to break the dominance of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the region adding, "this could only be achieved if supporters and sympathizers rallied solidly in unity behind the new executives."

Alhaji Abdul-Rahman said this when he led some of the Regional Executives to tour constituencies in the region to interact with the executives and members of the party. He said the goodwill and support they had received since their election, was an indication of a possible victory for the Party in the 2008 elections.

The Regional Chairman assured the supporters that the executives would never marginalize anyone, but open their doors to receive ideas and suggestions from anyone interested in the growth of the Party in the region.

"Improving the electoral fortunes and total victory for our Party is our major goal and everybody should feel free to approach us to offer suggestions that can move our great Party towards retaining power in 2008," He added.

Alhaji Abdul-Rahman advised all the supporters to bury their differences, eschew bickering and attitudes that undermined Party unity, as well as actions that dented the electoral fortunes of the NPP in the region in 2004 elections.
