Upper East NPP executives support Agyepong

Bolgatanga, Nov. 13, GNA - Constituency Executives and party supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper East Region on Wednesday declared their support for Mr. Kwabena Agyepong, one of the aspiring presidential candidates of the party.

They made the declaration when Mr Agyepong visited the town as part of his campaign tour of the Upper East Region.

Some of the constituencies he visited in the region included Pusiga, Garu, Zebilla, Sandema, Navrongo, Bongo, Talensi-Naddam China-Paga, and Bolgatanga.

Most of the executives the Ghana News Agency spoke to described Mr Agyepong as somebody who has leadership qualities, full of youthful exuberance and rich experience that the party could rely on to win the elections in 2008.

"Mr. Agyepong demonstrated this when he served under the NPP government as the Press Secretary to President John Agyekum Kofuor. "He sacrificed himself by working tirelessly and assiduously, thereby contributing to the development of the country", they said. Mr Agyepong later told the GNA that the party needed a leader who had the vision and could activate, rejuvenate and revitalize to turn the fortunes of the party around to enable it win the 2008 elections.
