Two candidates contest NDC primaries at Bosomtwe

Kuntanase (Ash), Sept 6, GNA - Delegates at the National Democratic Congress (NDC), primaries at Bosomtwe, in the Ashanti Region, would on Monday, vote to choose a candidate for the parliamentary slot of the main opposition Party for Election 2004.

The two, Mr Edmond Isaac Boateng, a 63-year-old retired Educationist and a 50-year-old Evangelist, Elisha Kobbia, have been vetted for the primaries, which takes place at Kuntunase.

Speaking at the vetting ceremony, Mr Ahmed Iddrisu, Deputy Regional Organiser of the Party, asked the supporters to be tolerant of divergent political views to ensure peaceful co-existence.

Mr Kwabena Amankwa, the Bosomtwe Constituency Chairman of the Party, called on supporters and sympathisers of the NDC to work hard to wrest power from the ruling New Patriotic Party.

Mr Alex Yaw Opoku, Deputy Propaganda Secretary, said the Party was poised to win a number of votes in the Region.
