Accra, Sept. 12, GNA - The National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Monday referred Dr. Tony Aidoo, a leading member of the party to the disciplinary committee of the National Executive Committee (NEC) for allegedly making comments injurious to the party.

A statement signed by Mr. Bede Ziedeng, Acting General Secretary of the NDC said the NEC at its meeting on September 9, 2005, took note of complaints about the recent pronouncements made by Dr. Tony Aidoo on a radio programme hosted by Joy FM on Monday, September 5, 2005. The statement said Dr. Tony Aidoo made remarks, which have raised some serious concerns within party ranks.

It said the NEC has referred the matter to the disciplinary committee of the party for its consideration.

The statement cautioned party members to exercise restraint and circumspection in making statements about the party, and should ensure that the image and integrity of the party and its leadership was upheld and protected at all times.
