Three NDC aspirants in Brong-Ahafo Region get the nod

Sunyani, April 18, GNA - Delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Sunyani East constituency on Wednesday elected Mr. Justice Samuel Adjei by acclamation to contest the constituency seat in the December general election.

By the close of the party's nomination, no other candidate had filed to contest with Mr. Adjei, project manager of Pergah Transport, a private transport company. Addressing delegates Mr. Kwadwo Nyamekye Marfo, Vice Chairman of Brong-Ahafo Regional branch of the party, urged members to work hard to capture the seat from the New Patriotic Party.

"The NDC is fed up with the unnecessary intimidation against members and we are determined to face them boot for boot", Mr. Marfo said. He urged members to encourage their children who had attained 18 years and above to register to be able to exercise their franchise and vote for the NDC.

He expressed appreciation for the massive support, trust and encouragement shown by the delegates and party enthusiasts. In a related development, Mr. Simons Addai and Mr. Alex Kyeremeh, NDC Members of Parliament for Techiman South and Techiman North respectively have been returned unopposed to contest for their seats.

The two expressed appreciation to the delegates and appealed to party faithful to work as a family to retain both seats in the election. Mr. Daniel Frempah Agoloso and Nashiru Alhaji Yusuf, North and South constituency chairmen respectively called on party supporters to ensure a united front to wrestle power from the NPP. They stressed the need for the party members to be tolerant in their electioneering campaign to ensure violent free election.
