World Health Organisation Presents Scientific Equipment To Ministry Of Health

The World Health Organisation (WHO) today presented some scientific equipment, computers and a camera worth 35.9 million cedis to the occupational health unit of the ministry of health. Dr.. Martin P. Mandara, who representative in Ghana, gave the items to Mr.. Samuel Nuamah-Donkor, Deputy Minister of Health, at a ceremony in Accra. The equipment include a vitalograph, calibration syringe, audiometer, five mouth pieces for peak flow, 10 mouth pieces for vitalograph. Dr.. Mandara said who has made occupational health one of its visions of achieving health for all "because of the appalling occupational health situation worldwide." He said over 200,000 healthy adults are killed and more than 120 million injured at the work places annually. "The organisation has, therefore, planned a series of programmes which will help it to implement the recommendation set out in its global strategy for occupational health."
