Research into Claims of Herbalists-Journalist

An HIV/AIDS Activist and a journalist, Mr. Clement Boateng, has urged the Ghana AIDS Commission, to undertake a comprehensive research into claims by herbalists in the country that they have the cure for the HIV/AIDS disease.

In an interview with Space FM in Sunyani, Mr Boateng noted that it might be that they have the cure for the disease but have not gotten the support to properly develop it.

According to him the herbalists? drugs can be a potent anti-retroviral drug with less or fewer effects on people living with AIDS.

Mr Boateng noted that if researches conducted on the drugs prove that they are inefficient, then there should be massive education for the public and the herbalists told to shut up.

He suggested that the AIDS commission should recommend the herbalist Association to the international bodies concerned so as to share their ideas with Researchers and pharmaceutical institutes.

Mr Boateng concluded that the youth be careful and avoid casual sex since the disease is not respecter of persons.
