Results in nine electoral areas in Tema released

Tema, Sept. 28, GNA - Results of last Tuesday's District Assembly and Unit Committee Elections from nine out of the 54 electoral areas in the Tema Municipality, have been released by the municipal branch of the Electoral Commission (EC).

So far, the name of only one female contestant had come up as having won the election as an assemblywoman.

The candidate-elect, Mrs Esther Sintim-Missah, a 51-year-old accounts clerk, contested in the Ashiboi Electoral Area and won with 704 votes, as against 518 votes polled by her other contestant, Mr Ebenezer Adjetey Kraku.

The other eight results are as follows: Joshua Nortey, 460 votes, (Afieye Electoral Area); Osanyonmor Atitiati Laweh, 501 votes, (Railways Electoral Area); Alex Nii Annang, 357 votes, (Laaloi Electoral Area); and Frank Dzodzodzi, 232 votes, (VALCO Electoral Area). The rest are Kingsley Kwame Appiah, 422 votes, (Ottanor Electoral Area); Samuel Kwabena Asante, 829 votes, (Halcrow Electoral Area); Romeo Elikplim Akahoho, 426 votes, (Klan-gon Electoral Area) and Marcellus Amo Ashie-Mills, 661 votes, (Kassardjian Electoral Area). At the close of nominations before the elections, the EC declared candidates contesting the elections in five electoral areas within the municipality, unopposed, because they were the sole contestants. Those electoral areas are Low Cost, Manmomo, Hebron, Pinkwai and Onyai-nshi.
