Reshuffles without systems will yield mediocre results - Political Analyst

A political analyst has warned that the latest reshuffles and introductions into government may not yield significant results without proper structures to allow the new hands smoothly stamp their new ideas on their respective portfolios.

According to Mohammed Abass, the current government hasn’t shown enough skill at spearheading proper coordination of team work in its governance fold.

He says until the government is able to brace itself for the perceive divisions in the party and in the ministries, the status quo will remain irrespective of who is appointed into the government.

“Fusing in a team that had a lot of problems, conflicts and divisions and putting together the old and new guys will demand that you redefine and shape the system, and that is what is lacking. There is currently no system, and everybody seems to be doing his own thing,” he explained.

Buttressing his point, he indicated. “average people with a good system will produce extraordinary results but extraordinary people with no proper systems will produce very mediocre results.”

The president has appointed Dr. Ekow Spio-Gabrah, former CEO of the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organization as Minister for Trade and Industry.

The biggest casualty of the reshuffle is Kwesi Ahwoi, who was Minister of Interior, but has been, left out.

Dr. Benjamin Kunbuor (MP), leader of Government Business in parliament is now Minister for Defense.
