Regard NPP as the hope for the future - youth urged

Saltpond, Nov. 26, GNA - Mr. Seth Benedict Okine, the new Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Mfantseman West Constituency, has called on the youth to regard the party as their hope for the future.

Speaking to the GNA at Saltpond Mr. Okine, an accountant, said achievements of NPP especially the introduction of the National Youth Employment Porgamme, School Feeding Programme and the Capitation Grant, showed that the party is for the youth.

He said the youth should desist from negative utterances and lawlessness that could undermine the fortunes of the party in future elections and urged them to seek redress through laid down procedures. "We must demonstrate to our elders our ability to manage the affairs of the nation in a responsible manner but not to plunge it into anarchy," he said.

Mr Okine urged them to bury petty squabbles which caused them the seat in 2008 despite the good work done in the constituency by Mr. Stephen Asamoah Boateng, former members of Parliament and Mr. Robert Quainoo-Arthur, former Municipal Chief Executive. He appealed to the new officers to work as a team to intensify campaign to recapture the seat from NDC in 2012. 16 Nov 09
