Refrain from shooting Party in the foot-NDC Foot-soldiers told

Ho, May 7, GNA - The Volta Regional Executive of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Friday appealed to its aggrieved members to refrain from shooting the party in the foot. "We entreat you to use legitimate channels of communication to seek redress to your concerns." This was contained in a statement signed by Mr Simon Amegashie-Viglo, the Regional Secretary of the party. The statement said anonymous letters, the use of the media and posting of allegations in public as weapons to attack some political office holders in the region have "the potential of creating disaffection, mistrust and disillusion within the organization." It said the leadership of both the party and the government understood their frustrations in the light of their expectations and appealed for decorum and forbearance. The statement said the "fulfilment of these expectations will take time and considerable effort by all Ghanaians." The statement said the manner in which they chose to express their genuine grievances could be exploited by "other interest groups opposed to the 'Better Ghana Agenda" to gain political advantage. 07 May 10
