Rawlings must join president Mills for 2012 campaign no

A vice chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)
Alhaji Said Sinare says, though the party could win the 2012 elections without
the founder of the party, it will be politically suicidal should the former
president Jerry John Rawlings fail to
join President Mills campaign for the 2012 general elections after he wins the July
congress.
He said, every true and loyal member of the party however
aggrieved or bitter he or she must as a matter of principle follow the laid
down procedures by joining the leader of the party campaign for victory in
2012.
He hinted, that he doubts if former president Rawlings will
disagree to join President Mill’s campaign, ‘’ I will hate to see the NDC win
the 2012 elections without the founder’’. But I know definitely that the
founder will join the campaign stressing that ‘’ it is better for us to have a
useless NDC government than to allow the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to come to
power on a silver platter’’. Sinare said.
The former member of parliament for the Ayawaso Central tells
Radio Gold in Accra that the performance of president Mills is commendable thus
the need to retain him than the NPP taking over power.
It will be recalled that two vice chairpersons of the NDC
former first lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings and Dr. Ekwow Spio Garbrah
resigned their positions to contest the President in the July primaries of the
party in July.
But Alhaji Said Sinare said, regardless of what happens at
the July congress he would want to see former president Rawlings supporting
President Mills, adding that ‘’ we are all one big family and I don’t think
Jerry Rawlings want to see the NDC sink because it will not be in his interest
to see the party collapse’’.

He described the internal wrangling in his party as normal,
it happened during the NPP between Nana Addo and Alan Kyeremanteng it was even
worse-it’s normal that is politics you hit, hit and counter hit but the ideals
of the party must reign supreme and all must put their hands on the wheel for a
decisive victory in 2012.

‘’ Whether defeated candidate or not, all must come on board
to support the winner for the 2012 elections. I have been around and have
tested the pulse of most of the delegates and it’s pretty obvious that
president Mills will win the July congress by a landslide.’’
