Queen mother threatens NDC

Queen Mother of Jasikan traditional authority in the Volta region, Nana Abena Appewbea II, sounded very harsh and uncompromising when she was speaking to journalists about the deplorable state of roads in the area.

She did not mince words in what looks like a caveat to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.

"I am the queen mother of Jasikan traditional authority, I'm telling them, this time we will not vote for them unless they put our roads in better states," she said.

She added that “Voltarians” cannot continue to vote for the NDC when all they get is unprecedented neglect of their poor roads and inadequate social amenities.

She assured that their votes in the next election will be based on thorough assessments of developmental projects of a particular government.

"NDC has been very ungrateful, this time we are telling [the] President that they fix our roads or we refuse and vote for anyone who will fix our damaged roads”.

Nana Appewbea II is not the only traditional authority from the region to make such discontent known; it would be recalled that some chiefs spoke strongly against the disconnection of the region in terms development and economic activities which prompted a reply from President Mahama.

The President in that gathering assured the chiefs "I will never take you for granted" and gave explanations why there seems to be developmental challenges in the region.

The Queen mother was speaking at Buem Excellence Award in Buem where the current Vice Secretary and aspiring National Organizer of the NDC, Kofi Adams was a Special Guest of Honour.
