Pusiga NDC calls for unity among political parties

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Pusiga has appealed to political parties in the Bawku area to unite and preach peace to ensure peace in the upcoming general election.

The party said, as the area had been given a district status, the good intentions of the government would be lost if there was no peace in the area.

Alhaji Haruna Azuunga, Pusiga Constituency Chairman of the NDC, told the GNA in an interview that political parties should not fight over petty differences because the prime aim of all of them was to serve the people.

Alhaji Azuunga commended government for its effort at bringing the people together by taking steps to develop the area.

Alhaji Azuunga said the government had improved education facilities in the area, improved the roads and called for the extension of the Rural Electrification Project to the area.

The Deputy Constituency Secretary, Mr Iddirisu Osman, appealed to government to give a second look at late payment of the National Youth Employment personnel because it was becoming a worry to the personnel.**
