Ghana accused of trademark infringement

A RELEASE issued and signed by Miss Tourism World Organisation in Nottingham England, the owners and producers of Miss Tourism World and Model of the Universe International, has accused the organisers of Model of the Universe, Ghana, 1st Royal, for infringement of their trademark.

The release states, “It has since been brought to their attention that 1st Royal Events, are illegally attempting to host “Face of the Universe” in Ghana in December 2006. While at it, they are also using the Miss Tourism World banner in order to add credibility to this illegal event and passing-off as being part of the Miss Tourism World Organisation.

They are illegally using our trade mark and copyright photos on their website and this is a direct infringement of our trademarks”.

Apart from using the Miss Tourism World banner to add credibility to their event, 1st Royal are also passing off as being part of the Miss Tourism World Organisation, which they are not.

The Miss Tourism World Organisation would therefore like it to be known that 1st Royal Events, Ghana have no legal right to use any trademark name under the Miss Tourism World banner to host this illegal event and are no longer involved with their organisation. To this effect, all Licenses for 1st Royal Events, Ghana have now been revoked.

“The Miss Tourism World Organisation, own the trademark names of Model of the Universe and Face of the Universe and will take an injunction out against any person using our trademark names illegally without our consent, the release concluded.

Currently, legal proceedings are now being taken against 1st Royal Events, Ghana by Miss Tourism World Organisation based Nottingham, England.
