The 12-member committee set up by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to investigate the party's defeat in the 2024 Election is set to present the report to the National Executive Council of the party on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.
The committee, chaired by former Speaker of Parliament, Prof Mike Oquaye, had been mandated to thoroughly assess the reasons that led to the party's defeat.
The committee was granted a three-month window to conduct its review and present findings to the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party.
The terms of reference for the committee included valuating the party’s internal election processes, reviewing the overall campaign strategy and identifying factors that led to the loss.
The NEC meeting is underway at the Alisa Hotel in Accra and the attendees include the former President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo; the former Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, and the 2024 Vice Presidential Candidate of the NPP, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh.
The NEC meeting is expected to outline key strategies for the post-elections and address concerns about party unity and performance.
