Parties commended for exhibiting tolerance

The Omanhen of Gomoa Ajumako, Obrempong Nyanful Krampah XI, has commended the National Democratic Congress and the New Patriotic Party for the tolerance exhibited in the 2012 election petition hearing.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency at his palace at Gomoa Ajumako, Obrempong Krampah said the tolerance exhibited by the two political parties had demonstrated that Ghana was a beacon of democracy and would continue to be the star of Africa.

He urged Ghanaians to continue to remain calm and wait patiently for the Supreme Court ruling on the petition. Obrempong Krampah expressed the hope that the nation would continue to enjoy peace after the ruling.

“Ghana will still be Ghana after the ruling,” Obrempong said.

He said because of the petition development had virtually come to a standstill and appealed to the Supreme Court to expedite action on the petition to allow development to take its normal course.

The Omanhen appealed to the National Peace Council and the religious bodies not to take things for granted and intensify the peace campaign as they did before and during the 2012 general elections.
