The Palestinian Ambassador to Ghana, Ahmed Al-Khalil Al Satari, has expressed profound gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for donating 40 metric tonnes of humanitarian aid to the State of Palestine.

The aid, comprising assorted premium Made-in-Ghana Golden Tree cocoa products, aims to alleviate the suffering of Palestinian civilians in Gaza.

During a press conference held at the Palestine Embassy in Accra on August 28, 2025, Ambassador Al Satari emphasized that the conflict in Gaza is not a religious conflict but an "apathied and continuous genocide and killing of unarmed Palestinian civilians, mainly women, children and journalists".

He cited UN reports, stating that approximately 28 children are killed every passing day, with a total of 62,966 casualties, including 28,000 children, 20,000 women and 88 civilians.

Furthermore, about 195,266 people have been injured, with many suffering from amputated limbs and disfigured faces and body parts.

The Ambassador urged the international community to support the two-state solution, noting that only the Israeli people do not support it.

He emphasized that the motive of Israel is to exterminate the people of Gaza, relying on Hamas as a pretext.

Kwesi Pratt Jnr, Leader of the Solidarity Movement for the State of Palestine in Ghana and Pan African activist, echoed this sentiment, stating that the ongoing situation in Palestine is "occupation and genocide".

Dr Wale Okediran, Leader and General Secretary of the Pan African Writers Association (PAWA), reaffirmed the organization's commitment to solidarizing with the State of Palestine.

He stated that PAWA will support all calls for freedom and independence of Palestine from Israeli occupation.

The donated humanitarian aid is expected to be made available in Gaza this September, providing much-needed relief to the affected populations.

The gesture underscores Ghana's commitment to supporting Palestine during these challenging times.

In His conclusion remarks, the Ambassador, in the face of ongoing violence and humanitarian crises, called on the People of Palestine to remain committed to uphold their integrity, and the Integrity of the State of Palestine.

He noted that Ghana's donation is a testament to the country's dedication to humanitarian society and its dedication to promoting peace and stability in the region.

“The people of Palestine appreciate the kindness and support shown by the government and people of Ghana and look forward to continued solidarity and cooperation in the pursuit of peace and independence.”
