‘PPP will win Akropong seat’

The parliamentary aspirant for the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) in the Akropong constituency of the Eastern Region, Kwaku Fredua-Agyemang, has indicated that the party is poised to win the Akropong seat.

According to him, the PPP is ‘favourite among the lot’ to win the seat because it has ‘practical solutions’ to the problems in the constituency.

Though he could not give the exact percentage he expected the party to get in the elections, he was of the firm opinion that the PPP had a bright chance of winning because of its message of hope which has been accepted by the electorate in the constituency.

“We are not being complacent but when you go round, people complain and the perception is that no practical solutions have been provided to solve their numerous problems.”

The practical solutions, according to him, involve the provision of jobs for the unemployed youth in the constituency and better schools for children in the constituency.

The Akropong seat currently held by the New Patriotic Party (NPP), can boast of ancient monuments which date back to the early days of the operations of Christian missionaries, but has been fraught with several development challenges.

These challenges, according to Mr. Fredua-Agyemang, have dashed the hopes of the constituents which he seeks to restore when elected.

“We would restore the hopes of the constituents which have been dashed; our messages of hope have been a good one and have given us an edge over our contenders…,” he said.

He further called on the youth and the old alike in the constituency to partake in the on-going biometric voter’s registration to get the opportunity to change and restore the hope of the people of Akropong.**
