PNC holds regional delegates conference in Tamale

Tamale, Aug. 6, GNA- Mr. Bernard Mornah, National Youth Organiser of the People's National Convention (PNC) has asked Ghanaians not to make a third mistake and vote for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to further worsen their suffering.

He said the NPP was a rich party, which was focusing on an agenda that would favour only the rich to the total neglect of the poor in the country and stressed the need for a change of government in the 2008 general election.

Mr. Mona was addressing a Regional Delegates' Congress of the PNC in Tamale on Sunday to elect the new executive members to lead the party for victory in 2008.

He said the PNC had always been tagged "as a poor party" and as such it was necessary for all poor people in the country to identify with the PNC and help it win power to be able to address their concerns. Mr. Mornah explained that the change of government in the 2000 general election was because the electorate wanted a change since the NDC has stayed in power for too long. "The change has turned out to be a mistake because the NPP has performed worse than the NDC and there is therefore the need to vote it out," he said.

The Youth Organiser said a PNC government would make university education affordable to enable everyone have access to higher education. "It would do the country good if Ghanaians vote for the PNC as an alternative to the NPP and the NDC to ensure good governance", he said. Mr. Alhassan Zakaria was elected the Regional Chairman, Mr. Mahama Saani Sulkiful, Regional Organiser, Mr. Amadu Kasim, Regional Secretary while Mr. Adam Mahama and Mr. Osman Haruna were elected Vice-Chairman and Deputy Regional Organiser respectively.

The rest were: Mr. Abdulai Abdul Razak, Regional Youth Organiser, Mr. Amidu Abdallah, Deputy Youth Organiser Mr. Osman Kasim, Education Secretary, and Madam Mohammed Baby, Regional Women's Organiser.
