Osae-Krodua appeal to Govt. to fulfil promise

Osae-Krodua (C/R), March 30, GNA -The people of Osae-Krodua in the Central Region have appealed to the Government to fulfil its promise to connect the community to the national electricity grid.

They made the appeal at an Easter congress at which matters affecting the development of the town, particularly those bothering their electrification and school projects were discussed.

According to Mr. Albert Kwame Afful, the Assemblyman for Adawukwa/Osae-Krodua electoral area, the promise was given by the Vice President three years ago, when he toured the area to acquaint himself with problems facing farmers in and around Osae.

He said acting on the Vice President's promise, the inhabitants mobilized funds and subsequently procured the necessary wooden electricity poles to augment efforts, but unfortunately as at now, the promise had not been honoured.

Addressing participants at the congress, Mr. Afful advised them not to be discouraged by the unfulfilled promise but continue to maintain their high self-help spirit to implement other social projects they have initiated for the community.

He expressed the hope that Government would do everything within its power to connect the community to the national electricity grid before the end of the year to prevent the poles from going rotten. Mr. Afful further assured the people of his preparedness to forward their power problem to the appropriate quarters for redress. Meanwhile, chiefs and other opinion leaders in the town have agreed to form a strong civic education club to sensitise the people, especially the youth, on matters bothering the increasing act of indiscipline among Ghanaians.
