Okrah elected CPP candidate for Lower Manya

Odumase-Krobo, Sept. 20, GNA - The Lower Manya constituency branch of the CPP has elected Mr E.K.A. Okrah, an educationist, as its parliamentary candidate for the December elections through popular acclamation.

In his acceptance speech, Mr Okrah deplored the dilapidated condition of infrastructure in the constituency, especially schools and markets.

He pledged to make efforts to rectify the situation and organise vocational training for the youth to acquire employable skills, if elected.

On the prevalent chieftaincy disputes in the area, Mr Okrah gave the assurance that he would use his influence to solve them to promote unity and development.

The Eastern Regional Chairman of the party, Nana Owusu Sekyere, noted that due to the prevailing socio-economic hardships facing the masses, the Kufuor administration could no longer ask Ghanaians to reflect on their deprivations before casting their votes.

He urged the electorate to recall such a slogan adopted by the NPP in the 2000 to win the elections and to apply the message to decide their votes in December in favour of the CPP.

"With the re-opening of schools, parents and guardians have started developing hypertension due to the exorbitant fees", he stated.
