Oforikrom NDC takes stock of activities

Kumasi, Dec. 27, GNA - The Oforikrom constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has held its Annual General Meeting in Kumasi to take stock of its past activities and brainstorm on the way forward. Mr Evans Ablordeppey, the Constituency Organizer, said the Party had come a long way to win power and that all well-meaning activists should work hard to consolidate the gains made. He urged them to do away with factionalism, arrogance and back-biting and work with unity of purpose, since the NDC had proven that it was capable of improving on the living conditions of the people, through good economic policies and programmes.

The Organizer commended President John Atta-Mills for upholding the rule of law, accountability and transparency in his administration, saying that it was about time Ghanaians buried their political differences and be supportive of development programmes initiated. On crime, Mr Ablordeppey said ensuring a peaceful society was a shared responsibility and therefore urged the citizenry to help the security agencies in curbing crime for accelerated development.

Mr Mahama Iddrisu, Nsenie NDC Ward Chairman, extended the ward's felicitations to the new executives of the Ashanti Regional NDC under the chairmanship of Mr Yaw Owusu Obimpeh. He was hopeful the new executives would usher in vibrant policies and initiatives to maximize votes for the Party in the region in the 2012 elections.
