Odododiodioo NDC Chairman returned unopposed

Accra, Dec 17, GNA - The Chairman of the Odododiodioo constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Daniel Nii Okai, was the only person who had filed for the position at the close of nomination for the election of executives on Wednesday. Mr. Okai, who has been Chairman since 2001, was returned unopposed with the Vice Chairman, Mr. Festus Clifford Bekoe, the Organizer, Mr. Samuel Armah and the Propaganda Secretary, Mr. Nii Addo Quaynor.

Two persons, Mr. Joseph Otoo the current acting Secretary and Mr Alfred Nii Kotey Ashie, the Coordinator for the Korle Workor Ward had submitted their nomination forms for the position of Secretary while two others, Mr Samuel Ezard Abbey and the incumbent Hajia Lawulatu Salami had filed for Treasurer. Mr Elvis Codjoe and Mr Nii Teiko Tackie are contesting the position of Youth Organizer while three persons Ms Vivian Nartey, Ms Magaret A Kpakpo and Ms Mavis Manugbor are contesting to become the Women's Organizer.

Other contestants are Naa Koshie Golightly, Deputy Secretary, Robert N.A Tisei and Abubakar A Wahab, Deputy Organizer, Rebecca Annan, Deputy Treasurer and ASlhassan Nuhu Muzamilla and Matthew Aduko, Deputy Youth Organizer.

Speaking to the GNA at the close of nomination, the MP for the area, Mr Jonathan Nii Tackie Komme, commended members of the party for the peace that prevailed throughout the exercise, which he described as "Unprecedented" in the annals of the constituency. He expressed the hope that they would comport themselves in the same way during the constituency conference scheduled for Sunday.

The election of the Women's Organizer, the Deputy Women's Organizer, the Youth Organizer and the Deputy Youth Organizer would be held on Friday.
