Odododidio constituency pray for peace

The Odododiodio branch of the Pentecostal and Charismatic Council of Churches on Friday organised a one-day peace prayer for God’s protection and guidance in the constituency in the forthcoming elections in Accra.

The event brought together opinion leaders, political parties, Members of Parliament, Political parties’ candidates and community members to pray for peace.

Reverend Dr. Ferdinard Ofosu Botchway, Chairman of the group, speaking at the event said peacemakers dream and act unity.

He said being a peacemaker means becoming the initiator in resolving conflicts between others in the community.

“When peace rules in our heart we can become peacemakers,” he added.

Rev. Botchway said Jesus Christ brought peace to the world, made peace through his blood on the cross and has called mankind to be peacemakers.

He noted that, “Peace making is a family business, we all need to share.”

Mr. Jonathan Nii Tackie Komme congratulated the organisers of the programme for their effort to see the constituency enjoy peace during and after the elections.

He urged community members to strive for peace to enable God bless the community for growth and development.

“Ghana needs peace more than ever, since it is the eye of the African continent,” he added.

Inspector Seth Danso, James Town Police Station Officer, said the Police are ready to support the community for peace to prevail.

He said members of the community needed to be tolerant of each other no matter the situation at hand and called on political parties to educate their supporters to appreciate other opinions.

He said the Police have initiated community policing in a number of communities and plans are afoot to replicate one in the Odododiodio community to curb crime.

Rev. Dr. Robert Ampiah-Kwofie, General Overseer, Global Revival Ministries, cautioned the youth not to fall victim to the selfish gains of politicians by fighting each other.**
