The Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Dr Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, has defended the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) initiative, emphasising that the ongoing investigations against officials in the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo led government are not politically driven but focused on recovering stolen state funds.

Addressing a press briefing on Friday, June 13, 2025, Dr Ayine rejected claims that the initiative is a partisan witch-hunt.

According to him, the investigations are rooted in constitutional duty, not political allegiance.

“What we are doing is simply to account to the people of Ghana. I will continue to account to the good people of Ghana through press briefing,” he declared.

He further stated that none of the individuals arrested or investigated under ORAL has been linked to any political party in his public statements.

Instead, he insisted that the actions are based purely on evidence of wrongdoing.

“In my press briefings, I have not connected any political party to the people that I arrest and investigate, so the idea of going [after anyone] is not to make any political party look bad or any faction in the Ghanaian politics look bad, we have a duty to account to the people of this country," he added.
