Oly deepen woes of Afienya United

Afienya United's hunt for their first win this season was once again shattered as they were beaten 2-0 by Accra Great Olympics in their match played at Tema.

Determined to lift themselves from the bottom rungs of the league, Afienya after the kick-off, attacked from all angles but they failed to find the net as their attackers were jittery up front.

Olympics took over the control of the game and scored the leader in the 37th minute through a penalty taken by left full back David Mensah.

Inside left Richard Okyere nearly equalised for Afienya three minutes later but he found his beautiful shot in the hands of goalkekeper Sam Quaye to the disbelieve of the fans.

In the 67th minute Afienya's centre forward Michael Bortei-Doku and Olympics' right full back Haruna Alhassan were shown the red card by referee J. H. Quarshie of Sunyani for exchanging blows.Afienya's right full back was also shown the red card by the referee for rough play in the 80th minute.

With their strength reduced, Olympics took advantage and piled up pressure on their opponents and succeeded in scoring again in the 87th minute through substitute Raja Nurudeen.
