Nkwanta North Constituency Seat is safe for NPP - Nayan

Ho, April 2, GNA - The Nkwanta-North Parliamentary "seat is safe for the New Patriotic Party," Mr Joseph Kwaku Nayan, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for the constituency has said. He made the declaration when he filed his nomination to contest the seat in the 2008 general elections.

Mr Nayan, also, the Deputy Volta Regional Minister and sole NPP MP in the Volta Region asserted that developmental projects going on in the constituency had made the Nkwanta North Constituency seat a no-go area for the opposition National Democratic Congress. Briefing the Ghana News Agency, Mr Nayan said his landmark achievements in the constituency included improved infrastructure such as electricity, improved feeder roads and the elevation of the constituency to the status of a district. He was optimistic that the people would re-elect him to enable him complete projects that he had initiated.

"I know I have to tar the township roads and bring potable water to the District. This is why I need a second term to bring all these about," Mr Nayan said. He said like in the 2004 elections his victory in this year's elections is obvious.
